Wonder where the "no bueno" shtick came from, no native Spanish speaker would ever say that, it's not even grammatically correct. Source: I'm a native Spanish speaker.
No, Marvel just can't do foreign languages or names?
(Or even _spell_ them right, see every time they spell Johann Schmidt as Johann Shmidt or Shmit for example. And apparently some readers genuinely believe his name is _supposed_ to be Shmidt despite that not being a legitimate surname _at all_).
Means “With Out Papers” meant to be used on off-the boat immigrants who (you guessed it) didn’t have any immigration documentation - it’s most commonly used with regard to Italians
You realize this is a joke, right? The villain of the issue calls himself The White Man, the joke being only Deadpool sees that name as weird in any way
He has a clown pepe pfp and a very questionable bio. He's an alt-righter, in other words, a fascist. Clown pepe is a very widely used tell for them. There was even a subreddit about "honking" (killing) minorities at some point. I'd suggest not engaging these fucksicles, because they are bad faith actors. Best course of action is to kick them out or ignore them.
I like it when they do the dot-thingie in the background to make the comic seem vintage or retro, but the artist still draws it and frames it like a modern comic.
Good to know. Oddly, I see it a lot more emphasized in pop art than I ever did in the comics I read from the 50's thru 70s. I think there must be some people that actually think this is what comics used to look like.
Just looked him up on your recommendation. Turns out a friend of mine has a copy of Grand Design: X-Tinction trade paperback. Looks interesting so far.
If I recall correctly… and that’s a big if because this run of Deadpool was full of weird wacky stuff (Including DP kicking Undead Teddy Roosevelt in the nuts and fighting an invulnerable douchebag).
Ok… so if I recall some time traveller tried to kill Hitler and failed, so Hitler stole his time travel machine, and is trying to kill Nic Fury across the ages. Cable and Deadpool find out, and have a brief adventure across the Marvel timeline saving Nic Fury at various decades. This is Deadpool trying to blend in the 80s era and stumbles upon Power Man and Iron Fist after getting pepper sprayed by Aunt May.
Or maybe this is the time Deadpool stole Cable’s Time Machine because they specifically needed 80s “disco and roller skates era” Dazzler for something.
Really wacky run as I’ve said.
This issue (#13) is played as just Deadpool existing in the 70's, the Cable dropping him off and leaving him was a later "flashback" issue, #20, where it got weird with cosmic puzzle pieces and Uatu

The shtick came from people who can't speak Spanish
Ngl I kinda wish the old school 70s-80s style of comic book art comes back some time. The simplicity and stylistic look is just great imo.
Wtf is up with afro-pool? Lol that’s fantastic
Hey, i got this book in my room somewhere
Offenders, assemble! https://pbfcomics.com/comics/the-offenders/
is "wop" a slur for something? i don't know what one

He’s so straight he won’t even look at his own dick!
Do you really want to get into an argument /serious discussion with a guy who call himself “Unwilling-Sock” and has Honkler pfp?
Is it true you've never had sexual relations with another human being?
What I do in the privacy of my own yiff suit is none of your business.
No, I want to mock you.

dot thingie is called a screen tone :D

Yes, that was the point. It was an issue of “lost stories” that retconned Deadpool into some older stories
Ah, that explains it. I was sure Deadpool only came about in the 90's but this style is definitely earlier.
well, it's TRYING to look like an earlier style in any case. In my opinion, it doesn't quite succeed.
Look into Ed Piskor he is a process geek that does all kinds of retro stuff on his pages.

I'm guessing there's a villain called "The White Man"?
Yes… and if I recall it’s a Caucasian dude in a white pimp suit with a magic cane that petrifies people
So a white version of Petey Wheatstraw?
Since you seem to know what's going on, could you explain blaxploitation Deadpool?

>This issue (#13) Of which specific series? The new one?
The 2012 run of Deadpool
Thanks!
Sure. *That’s* when it got weird.
Is he perchance looking for a partner in crime with an inverted color scheme?
TBF that's pretty accurate. Just... in general.
