This is my brother when he ate too much and cant be bothered defending his Big Mac

Kn0tnatural

Leaves it in his throat while he digests?

ComprehendReading

It's normally the only way to protect it, *and that's a gullet, thank you very much.*

TDKevin

Its stuck in his craw!

metalmodelmaker

You must be a fellow southerner!

TDKevin

I'm from boston so kinda like the opposite of the south haha. That expression just always makes me laugh for some reason. Sometimes I complain about my craw being sore to my girlfriend, she doesnt think it's as funny as I do haha

DaveInLondon89

Exactly what are you eating when a big Mac is a step too far

jack_geller

Prolly that 20 piece McNugget.

DoodleBobDread

Also, 2 for $6 Bacon Quarter Pounder/Big Mac combos, usually need a breather before diving into the Big Mac.

RomeoOnDemand

He ate so much and still had a big Mac to eat? He's asking for it

Nac82

Big macs are shrinking. I'd bet money on it.

VT0509

Until he basically goes “Got ya bitch.”

Armodeen

Always the risk with something that can strike so quickly from stationary. This one however seems to be in a food coma 😂

[deleted]

It stopped at 26 seconds for me and i thought it was like "yeah that's me, you might be wondering how i got here..." things... Then it plays for the "got ya bitch".

TheRealXen

Eh dudes tired and full. Leopard only wants his snack. Give up snack and go take nap instead of fight to the death.

KaladinKootcher

You thought i was sleeping? Nope. Chuck Testa

Auslan02

If there is one crocodile there is definitely more, that big cat should worry about the crocodiles it can’t see.

Tat-1

Said big cat has an *excellent* night vision.

Chargedunicorn

Can’t see shit with a flashlight in your eyes.

SonOfTK421

And excellent hearing and sense of smell. It knows where the threats are.

Rettufkcub

#EVERWHERE

ledgeitpro

For sure, just looking at my cats and how ninja theyve been since birth. Its easy to imagine that these jungle cats arent just bigger, but better at all said ninja stuff

datdamnboi_thicc

It’s a super predator dude…

1ggiepopped

Global elite of the food chain

Notonfoodstamps

Night vision doesn't give you 360 degree vision lol

Muaz_Polar

That's why they have excellent hearing and smell too.

ComprehendReading

Well they probably smell like dead meat and rotting jungle marsh in-between cat baths.

willfordbrimly

Redditors actually tryin to humansplain hunting tips to apex predators from the comfort of their office chairs.

Elmanlet

I was just thinking the same thing. I'm pretty sure the fully grown apex predator knows how to take care of itself. Reditards I swear to God...

dogfan20

Maybe those stupid cats should learn how to make guns

[deleted]

This reminds me of that time a Redditor tried to say that humans could easily defend themselves against a tiger without a weapon 😭

xxjake

Unlikely to sneak up on a cat, especially in the dark, with grass all over. The cat is in prime conditions. Other crocodiles aren't going to give two shits about one of their homies losing his dinner. Not their problem.

No-Economist2165

Yea I don’t think anything is sneaking up on that kitty.

KittySparkles5

The better to see you with, my dear

ElectricMotorsAreBad

>big cat should worry about the crocodiles it can’t see. "You stare at it, and it stares right back at you. And that's when the attack comes, not from the front, but from the sides, from the other two raptors you didn't even know were there."

Wut_Faced

Clever girl

Joe__Soap

that big cat is far more aware of its surroundings than any human could be

AxyJaxy

Lmao, i'm pretty sure it sees them.

DaveInLondon89

So should all of us tbh

BrakumOne

Or it's night time and they're cold blooded.

pickles55

Or it choked on that meat and it's dead now

Metzgama

It blinks in the video multiple times. Watch again.

Morkamino_Bones

It blinks Morse code for CHOKING, HELP.

Offduty_shill

Cats just helping him out

imbrownbutwhite

I was gonna watch it again anyway but now I’m not gonna

NazbazOG

It also moved

secretaccount4posts

I am always amazed by level of observation few people have..After reading comments, I suallt have to watch the video again

Leanwititrockwitit2

Nah. Once they eat a certain amount they literally just can’t move for a while.

lilsubgenius

Pretty balanced stats; considering they can go over a fucking *year* without food.

LokaTane

I could imagine eating a whole deer takes you into a coma like state

Theycallitaids

Ugh fucking same

Morkamino_Bones

Do they stay like that until they take a massive shit?

ComeonmanPLS1

That thing is literally stuffed with food to the point where it can't swallow all of it. You really think it could do anything?

The-albatroz

They must make huge poop

Notonfoodstamps

Actually not a lot as they digest virtually all of thier prey. Hoofs, horns, bones, teeth, claws and all

Joe__Soap

crocodiles can still move at night lol it’s just using all its energy to digest the big meal

BrakumOne

I didnt say they couldnt. But their mobility is limited.

MercyxXxLucie

Dude is in a food coma

slick_pick

He feeling the itis

lsguk

>The Itis. "The itis" is used to describe that lethargic, sleepy feeling an individual gets after eating a large meal. However, the phrase originates from the word "niggeritis," which helped reinforce the stereotype that black Americans were lazy *Ahem* TBF, I only recently learned this. So, just sharing.

SnicklefritzSkad

I think if pretty much nobody remembers that the origin is racist except for encyclopedias, it ceases to be racist, no?

vloger

Yeah. That’s the best case scenario for most slang/sayings.

cannabinator

it's mostly used by black americans, come off it

Thedoctoradvocate

Next you're going to tell me I cant use Niggardly!

jimbop79

I’ve asked all my African American friends, and they have all said the itis is real. Never heard it associated with black people or racism before. I think I heard about it on the Boondocks, lol

[deleted]

It was also famously on the Chappelle show https://youtu.be/i5U77Nxpv2c About 20 seconds in.Sleeping aid called “Ribs” Literally just a rack of ribs in a bigass aspirin bottle. One of the is a bad case of “the itis” aka a food coma.

RusticTroglodyte

Lol right? I had the itis before but never on that level. That shit is kinda impressive.

TheRadiantSoap

Other than my cousin, I've only ever heard people old enough to remember segregation say this word Do we have a boomer on reddit 👀

slick_pick

I've been told to have an old soul but no boondocks did an [episode](https://youtu.be/BBM2ahgnkbw) on it and that's where I heard it lol

Ar3peo

Big cats are... well big cats.

loonybubbles

This is exactly how my cat grabs treats from the dreaded cat carrier I'm trying to get her to like

RusticTroglodyte

It's so funny to me that big cats act literally exactly like my regular mischievous house cat when he's stealing food off a plate

Betasheets

YouTube Big Cat Rescue and see giant cats playing in boxes and going crazy w catnip!

don3dm

Is that the one with that bitch Carole Baskin?

nick4tical

Animals can eat raw meat outta each other mouths and are just fine. We sneeze and can kill each other?! Wtf?!

Vardhu_007

humans r the pussiest among all creatures. but also the most intelligent. just a trade offf.

BfutGrEG

Like 25 vigor but probably close to 80 Int

[deleted]

lower that to 10 and make it 99. also add terra magica

BillSelfsMagnumDong

>lower that to 10 and make it 99. 99? You've clearly never been to a nascar race

Xciv

It's 40-99. You have to roll several d20s at character creation to determine where on the spectrum you landed.

Offduty_shill

I mean human build is pretty objectively OP. Having enough int to unlock the technology skills gives you way more durability than investing into vigor or endurance and more damage than str/dex.

Kobold_Bukkake

It’s what makes unga-bunga play styles so much fun. Return to our roots

lsguk

Pretty balanced. We're already pretty OP.

nick4tical

I mean I’ll take that trade off for sure 😆

dianesprouts

most intelligent according to... humans

Jman_777

We're still extremely op. Were the most intelligent, plus a multitude of other things.

dr_pupsgesicht

And the best runners

willfordbrimly

>humans r the pussiest among all creatures Look at this pathetic cope straight from something on the endangered species list. Take your L.

livefreeordont

We don’t eat raw meat anymore because it will transmit disease easily and cooking improved survival. Other animals eat raw meat because they don’t know how to cook.

nick4tical

Yea no shit, guy! I was simply pointing that out and how weird it is.

rez_spell

Animals probably get sick and die from contaminated food all the time, just like we would. We just don't see it happen unless it's a pet "not acting normal."

livefreeordont

Nothing weird about it my dude

nick4tical

Nah not at all 😂

Yusuf-el-batal

They’re more adapted, meanwhile humans aren’t adapted to exposure of diseases.

ReferHvacGuy

It also takes a HUGE amount of energy for your body to process raw meat, and fight the diseases We need that energy to power our energy intensive brains. So we don’t have much disease resistance or digestion ability, in favour of being much smarter

yedd

It's more to do with farming practices, eating FRESH meat is usually harmless save for parasites. The meat you get in the supermarket has been in that state for some time, and is more likely to have been exposed to pathogens in any of the several steps it takes to get from farm to shelf.

livefreeordont

I’m sure a piece of meat that has been chilling in a croc’s mouth for some time isn’t safe for humans to eat

yedd

Yeah I'd agree with you, but I wasn't commenting on that

AceBean27

If you think wild animals don't die from disease and parasites, quite frequently, I have bad news for you. Fun fact though, we are actually better equipped to handle meat based pathogens than big cats (and all cats). The acid in our stomach is stronger and so we should be able to eat older/more rotten meat than a leopard. Our stomach acid is in line with scavengers (although not obligate scavengers like vultures).

[deleted]

[удалено]

AceBean27

Wait, you posted the same paper that I just posted. If you read that paper, Human stomach PH is listed at 1.5. Don't know where you got 3.7 from.

AceBean27

[https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0134116](https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0134116) Relevant table: [https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article/figure?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0134116.t001](https://journals.plos.org/plosone/article/figure?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0134116.t001) That doesn't have any big cats in it, but it does have domestic cats at a PH of 3.6 Human PH values were taken from these: [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2395805/](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/2395805/) [https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8456064/](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8456064/) 1st one had median value of 1.7. 2nd one has 1.3.

nick4tical

I want to believe you but I don’t see people eating raw shit like that and living 🤢 Meanwhile this cat’s helping himself outta crocs mouth 😝 But we don’t see the aftermath, so there’s that 🤷‍♂️

AceBean27

Raw meat is common in fancy cuisine. Steak tartare, chicken shashimi, and of course, sushi. All examples of raw meat. The trouble with us now days (and for a very long time now), is our intensive farming methods are absolute hot beds for disease and parasites to spread.

kurai-samurai

Pheasants are left to 'rot' for up to a week to develop a 'gamey' flavour, and dry-aged beef is literally controlled rot. Humans will eat anything if it's given a posh enough name. Hell, even medlars are left to rot.

OnlyFansCollecter

That’s life for you

HannahbalLector

“You gonna finish that?”

hokaionthenet

The crocodile is literally full.

strangehitman22

they look kinda dead tbh

adrienjz888

Nah just a food coma, you see it blink a few times. It likely just finished eating a few hundred pounds of meat so it has no ability or desire to defend the scraps in its mouth it couldn't even swallow. After this it'll probably not eat again for over a month.

strangehitman22

ohhh shit true

Oh no, light! Animals' worst enemy!

[deleted]

They plan to blot out the sun a la Mr Burns.

BDJosho

Can someone explain why he isn't reacting? Or expand on the vulnerability after a big meal

mark-five

1. It ate so much it can't swallow the rest in its mouth and is in a sort of refractory period as it digests 2. It's night and reptiles are cold blooded, energy levels are at its lowest.

Redditusername00001

Yeah, and is this a common thing for crocodiles?

Badpennylane

I think it's a cold blooded thing. I've walked up on snakes who are visibly full of food who looked dead and wouldn't react to being walked up on

interlopenz

Crocodiles blood becomes acidic because of an oxygen debt from holding their breath under water, they use the acidic blood to stimulate their digestive system to break down their food; after a big meal they will lie on the river bank to breathe and disperse heat. This leopard appears to of done this before.

Cj_is_our_god

Dude hit him like "You awake? Anyways imma take your food"

baconborn

Croc got the itis

SleepParalysisDemon6

How did u post this? It won't let me post videos or gifs and when I used imagur it deleted it

[deleted]

Because you touch yourself at night. Imgur knows all.

BfutGrEG

who tf does that at night? That's sleep time...you got an entire day to do that...brb

Salnder12

This is just a video of my wife after I fall asleep while eating beef jerky

leejoint

I love these kind of videos that show one how very similar house cats are to wild big cats. That pat on the nose is the same my domesticated rascal does to me each morning to push me to wake and fill up his bowl.

KoD226

They damn sure are. That's why idiots think it's a good idea to keep big cats as pets tho.

KG7DHL

Torpid. This is a great example of Torpid. He was torpid from indulging in far too much water buffalo. https://www.dictionary.com/browse/torpid

219Infinity

Imagine being so hungry that you take food out of the jaws of a monster

TGD-Man

That leopard's going to be a big meal if it's not careful.

Jman_777

True. One slip up and the Crocodile catches you and you're done. I've seen them take other predators such as Hyenas, Cheetahs, Wild dogs, Foxes, Tigers, Honey badgers, Otters, Sharks, birds of prey and more.

[deleted]

Yeah. The fact that jaguars eat some small species of caiman makes people forget that crocodiles are unparalleled hunters.

Jman_777

Yes, these Crocodiles are on a whole different level compared to those small Caimans and are just too big and powerful for most other predators. Even with Caimans, the Black Caiman which can grow up to 16 feet, and even more in extremely rare cases, are immune to predation from Jaguars, Otters and other predators that inhabit the same area.

[deleted]

Glad to find another natureismetal user that doesn’t think that big cats are invincible

Jman_777

Yes, I feel the same way. It's even worse with mustelids, especially Honey badgers, Otters and Wolverines and apes, especially Gorillas and Chimps. A lot of people seriously overhype them and legitimately think that they're invincible. Sure they're tough, but not invincible.

thekittykittycat

Only a cat would have the audacity to steal food from a croc's mouth

calvinthecreator

i sleep

Krill-Advance-8306

the leopard is lucky the fat water lizard is in a food comma if it wasn't the leopard would be snapped like a twig

cant_Im_at_work

He's got the itis, just give him a cigarette and he'll be okay after a nap.

LightLizardCake

So, is he in a food coma?

justheath

How hungry must you be where taking food from a live croc's mouth is worth the risk?

BusConfident1756

Dear, you gonna finish that deer

DestructiveAriel

the cat is gonna get comfortable around crocs now and pay the price some day

TheDaemonair

Reminds me of my ex- roommate's weekend food coma trips. Dude would smoke pot, surf the web, eat a ridiculous amount of junk food and take a nap. Routine repeats in the evening. He was an introvert, clean af and smoked pot outside, therefore sparing me, and the room, the second hand smoke. Coolest and best roomie ever.

Jayombi

FOOD COMA

TGD-Man

Is it that full that it doesn't finish the food already in its mouth?

[deleted]

Yes. Crocodiles will usually just swallow the chunks of meat that they rip of during the death roll whole, which takes quite a bit or of energy to digest. I imagine it took way too much at once, which caused it to not have the energy of the will to swallow that other piece of food in its mouth. This cat was very lucky that it wasn’t instantly grabbed

Adventurous_Belt_760

Big meal then too gentle

veresdemoneylebowski

Ah yes, “the itis” is this condition known by many species.

JayNotAtAll

"hey, hey, hey, you gonna finish that? Can I have some?"

xxjake

Talk about stealing food from my family plate.

williamtbash

Same here.

Somethingidk9

Think its combination of big meal and its night night and its a cold blooded animal so dosent really have the energy to move

WilliamSaintAndre

"Crocodiles are most vulnerable after a big meal" This describes most people too.

Fajiro

Homie in a food coma gets his leftovers stolen by the neighbor

I wonder what animal that croc was eating.

That is my cat when I’m stoned and enjoying some wings with my eyes closed. Damn meowski.

Careless_Wait8620

*after* big meals, leopard gtfo , he’s not done!!!

Ms_Bam_Bam

But why?! Someone please educate me!!! Are they just so full they can't do anything?

[deleted]

Diurnal Cold blooded animals are generally pretty lethargic at night. Add that on to the fact that it is still digesting a large meal, and you’ve got yourself an immobile reptile

SloughBoy78

Meat coma.
