This is a pretty old and notorious bug. What's happening is that when you take over a county, all of its holdings also get reassigned to the proper people. But if there's a holy order in a city, the city still gets assigned a new mayor, but the holy order still controls the city. Hence no revoke button because of the ownership clash. You need to find the mayor, which can be done by selecting the city holding banner and examining the title. It should be owned by a mayor, who you need to revoke the title from. Then the revoke button appears on the city holding, which lets you revoke it from the holy order and assign a new low noble. If that doesn't work, you can also form a new holy order in the city, which will consume the gold/prestige/piety but kick out the holy order that is currently leasing the city. Then you can just assign a new low noble.

In my case it's a castle holding but it works to some extent. I can select the title and see the baron. I can select the baron and select the revoke title, but in the new window there is no title I could revoke :/. Any idea how to proceed further? I already have a holy order so that's no option

Okay, I just murdered every single one of their family and now I inherited it, I can finally kick the templars out. Thanks a lot for helping me, you made my day ^^

icetongard

should be a minor decision to revoke lease, you can change city if you have numerous different holy orders. this is the way to get rid of holy order hqs

Helios4242

THANK YOU!!!! This was bugging me in cases when the revoke lease button didn't show. I thought it was something about who the sponsor was or something, since it only showed up sometimes. I just wish it didn't cost piety to revoke a hostile or worse holy order. That should GAIN piety or at least be free lol.

bedswervergowk

revoke the holding from them lol.

SithAcolyteXbox

Yes, should be a decision if you are same faith

ImAllBored

I am a different faith and have a holy order of my one. There is no decision and I can't see a way to simply revoke the title from them

Tsteak-

There is a revoke holy order lease option under minor decisions, worked for me when I was remaking Roman as the Byzantine Empire and ofc Orthodox and used it to revoke catholic holy order lease.

ImAllBored

This is what I'm talking about, the decision only lets me revoke my own holy order, not the different faith one I actually want to get rid of

Tsteak-

Did you try clicking on the little refresh looking icon next to the city name? It should bring up a list of cities that have holy orders in them. I also remembered that I think it has a cool down on how often you can revoke them so if there are multiple you have to wait.

ImAllBored

Not sure what icon you mean. I have sort of identified the problem, which is that when conquering something the game automatically replaces all the barons and mayors. So the castle holding of the holy order got a new baron that isn't shown to me and I basically have to get the castle back under my own rule to throw the holy order out

Tsteak-

Oh I see what you mean, for me I directly controlled the holdings I was trying to remove them from.

ImAllBored

Yeah, that's where I'm trying to get right now. Time to murder an entire family because for some reason I can't just revoke it from them
