Surprised there was nothing about this in the Air Force leaked documents .

Too bad it’s all just a psyop.

At least one of these was pretty much confirmed to be a harmless science project. Feeling thankful that nobody wasted $400k shooting down my 3rd graders' project... https://youtu.be/r52j91aWZSU

tressforsuccess

The most concerning thing is that a few days after congressional briefing and the day the president made a press statement, a congressman checked into a mental hospital.

Chasejcchase

What does that mean?

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

Are u joking or trolling? Do u realize that he had a stroke recently? Do u realize that one of the side effects after having a stroke is depression? I get it. Some people need to type things to feel important or smart, but don't do that. There's no correlation between his stroke and the briefings. Political world is a stressful environment. There's a reason y people like u are not in charge of anything and people like him are in office.

NoBreadfruit69

Man look where you are posting

maersdet

Was this Congressman in the hearing? Have a name?

arlmwl

>e That's interesting for sure. Maybe related, maybe not.

Anon187

https://www.csis.org/analysis/chinese-spy-balloons-skys-limit Read this and tell me you think it’s aliens. He we are an ancient civilization that can neutralize nuclear weapons and travel at light speed but can dodge your missiles. Fucking people are idiots. Goodbye disclosure. Goodbye contact. The population is still too fucking dumb

bilboteabaggins77

How come you know so much about this ancient civilisation lol

Key-Cry-8570

Not saying it’s aliens, odds are it will be something simple. But it seems pretty ignorant and self affirming to believe that any objects sent from some advanced civilization would be armored up its ass to be invincible. When we send satellites into space, or rovers to mars they could be easily destroyed by rocks. We don’t send Abrams tanks to explore mars, we send scientific defenseless probes. I’m sure economics and common logic is the same for all civilizations why send a tank, when a golf cart can do the same job. And for all we know there could be advanced societies out there that have no concept of war, so they’ve never developed advanced armored combat vehicles to defend themselves. It’s reminds me of people that say it’s impossible for there to be life out there in the universe, that somehow Earth is special and the only place that spawned intelligent life in an infinite universe. 🧐

Alert_Two5615

It's the nazis. Hitlers clone and his Thule finally decided to come out of hiding admist the possibility of a 3rd world War.

amkhz

This could be something, could be nothing. I think there are at least 7 P-8 aircraft up and down the eastern coast. Some searching off the coast of Florida. This is more plane spotting than UFO, but perhaps they are looking fervently for something. https://globe.adsbexchange.com/?icao=ae5f54,ae11d8,ae6788,ae5c5c,ae6847,ae4eb8,ae681a

Professional-Quit803

Dude I was just in Jacksonville this morning and couldn’t help but notice how many planes and “smoke” trails I kept seeing. Definitely something weird going on in that area.

Disastrous_Tea_1229

Will the public ever know what is happening, I hope they keep the Bible out of this!

Ataraxic_Animator

**UAP Takedown Debris: Not Offered Because Non-Existant?** \- - - - - - - Government, being cornered, and habituated by generations of institutionalized, habitual lying with regard to this topic, is in disaster-mitigation mode with an urgency it hasn't faced since 9/11. Is it possible that there is no evidence of debris, because there is no debris? What if they scored a direct hit and the UAP just lazily moved off to the polar cap, for example? Or ascended to an unreachable altitude? We must consider these possibilities because the government has offered nothing in the way of footage, visuals, infrared, satellite investigation, telemetry, etc., and just a bare handful of near useless verbal descriptions. They control satellites that can read a newspaper from space, and they can't find ***black solid debris*** on ***white snow and ice***.

pf30146788e

It’s been like 3 days. Give them a second to look around.

[deleted]

To be fair we don't know the debris is black, and snow isn't a solid. Something falling from a considerable hight can be buried in the snow upon impact pretty deep, it wouldn't just land on the top. I'm no where near the Arctic circle and there is about 2-4 feet of snow in my area.

Ataraxic_Animator

We do know the debris is black because the government described the object explicitly as metallic black. Regarding the snow: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miA0C4GV3\_I](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miA0C4GV3_I)

RealAkumaryu

Interesting interview with Ross Coulthart [https://twitter.com/i/status/1625398603433881602](https://twitter.com/i/status/1625398603433881602)

RealAkumaryu

It´s ridicilous how the subject turned in the news from constant live coverage to almost zero. While we have 4 objects being shutdown & a Trillion $ machinery like the US military is not able to retrieve debris? Tracked the slow moving objects w.o. ANY footage? I am a US American living in Germany and observing the media behavior and how quickly the people follow these narratives is beyond my belief. I never thought that the govt. would get away that easy with the recent events. The only thing that I think will counter that is that I believe we will have much more incidents - in one or the other way, this year and I am sure there are more people now who pay attention to the skies. Unless the next days and the briefings make a u-turn these incidents will be waved off as spectacular but harmless events.

Jackie_Esq

I can't figure out why they are shooting down "balloons" with missiles. The last I heard is that the objects are being shot down because they could interfere with planes because they fly in that same attitude but the objects are about the same size as weather balloon that also travels in that attitude and need no special authorization. If the government does not know what they are, capture one of them. That would prove the most value. How could you capture one?

SwanBridge

I'd be extremely interested about the logistics of capturing a flying object. Do you put a huge net behind a plane and scope it up? Do you send a C-130, get behind the object, open the hatch, and slow down significantly so you can get it inside the cargo bay? Any aviation heads know if it is feasible to capture a flying object?

Jackie_Esq

I'm thinking you send another balloon up to catch it. That would be fun to watch.

[deleted]

I mean the government hasn't told the press anything new, so there is nothing new to report on.

MerlotSoul

I’ve been thinking the same thing. Just days ago we shot things out of our airspace… and now there’s silence. No matter what it was or where it came from it’s alarming.

Sullyfendi

Why is that we have these planes with every modern technology but no cameras to have a look is puzzling?

[deleted]

Oh they have cameras.

bongloadsforjesus

I’d guess the pictures are classified. They have teams of people who edit out certain Information from military cameras (like sensor data and info on capabilities) before they can be shown to the public. If they are going to release anything, it won’t be until that occurs

pf30146788e

They would be as it discloses our capabilities if released.

SoluteGains

They could redact that information in less than 5 minutes. The decision has been made not to share images / video they have. If we ever find out the truth, it won't be from the government.

Sullyfendi

Absolutely my take on it.

bongloadsforjesus

It’s a longer process than that - they have to scrub anything from the footage that implies anything about our capabilities. They would have to think about everything that could be extrapolated from the footage, including sensor readings, angles, levels of zoom, speed, maneuverability…it’s a long list. I fully believe they’re going to keep a lot of this secret from the public, but I don’t think we can jump to conclusions just because they haven’t released the footage. They’re probably still analyzing it themselves. Releasing it to the public means every other country has access to the footage too, and they probably don’t want to give that info up just yet

djkeithers

I'm finding it odd that it was supposedly unmanned and had no propulsion yet a highly skilled military aircraft missed it on the first shot with a missile?! Does that mean that this thing maneuvered out of the way?

curiousinquirer007

Well, heat-seeking missiles are designed to hit fast-moving, heat/IR-energy-emitting large metallic aircraft, not small slowly floating cold balloons

GoldenSageBondi

i saw somewhere that some electronics systems were acting up, but only with some planes and not others. could've been this.

Lol. I read that those things cost like 400k per missile. No worries just load up another and raise taxes again

Either that or the guidance sistem on the rocket failed

Been away from civilization for a few days, but highly interested in the topic. Unfortunately on the road now for several hours, so I won’t be able to read through the articles... can anyone provide me an informative podcast about it?

Xenogunter

The US military budget for 2023 is $1.9T. That’s 1,900 billions. Are we supposed to believe they can’t take a photo of a “benign balloon” floating in the air? Utter nonsense.

SoluteGains

They aren't balloons.

Loz41333

I thought it was more in the 650 billion ballpark? 1.9 trillion sounds ridiculously excessive even by American standards.

Xenogunter

My bad.. I was looking at the Biden stimulus package for Covid. The military budget is a paltry $819B. ...I guess that's why we can't give a pilot a new iphone to take a decent photo.

m0rningview420

I hope they shoot another one down soon

Shot_Boot_7279

They will but now they won’t tell us.

m0rningview420

Cmon government you can tell me, I’m a trustworthy guy

ipassforhuman

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

I'm pretty sure this guy knows more than reddit shit posters stating they are balloons lol. https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/boston-expert-says-recent-flying-objects-shot-down-by-us-could-be-adversarial/

[deleted]

There is air force/CIA disinfo in this sub. Intelligence agents are super active on Reddit. There was a big post with examples, a few weeks ago.

---M0NK---

Id love to see that

F0064R

Has the US said whether they've recovered the Huron debris? Seems like it would be the easiest of all the locations.

Xenogunter

We should label one of the debris "Trump's Classified Documents" and another "Hunter Biden's Laptop". Both would be found within the hour.

Bitter_Coach_8138

Probably easiest to find, maybe not easiest to actually collect.

intersecting_lines

Canadian coast guard has been flying up and down all day. US has a SAR vessel in the waters too I would tend to agree that it's the easiest of the 3 to collect. That just lends itself to how difficult it is to retrieve any of these 3 objects. And I would give it a few days before pointing to "cover-up" like a lot in this thread are doing Lake Huron is enormous and deep, one is in mountains in the Yukon, and one is literally so far north, the only place more north is the north pole. It has only been less than 4 days since the Alaska incident and 48 hours since Lake Huron. I know the uncertainty and secrecy around this is really making people unnerved but IMO not collecting the debris yet is not the shocking in the least to me

Kusakaru

The thing with the Alaskan debris is that it was shot down over ice and we know the general area we shot it down. The debris should be very visible against the white of the ice and no vegetation in the way. I’m confused as to how they can’t find it.

greg0525

They have already found and collected it, long ago, I think.

Kusakaru

When? I have not seen anything about that.

SabineRitter

Depends on how smooth the ice surface is, maybe

Bells_and_booch69

They state they may never recover it. Quite a change in tune.

wahoosjw

Which is ridiculous. They should have footage, and coordinates of the location of the takedown. If it is a "commercial balloon" much of it should float. I can't believe that it's irrecoverable

Bells_and_booch69

Yeah, how many times did they say it's on ice suggesting that it's recoverable. Now they've changed their minds for some reason!

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

I believe they said they saw it shatter in the ice. Lol. They see it but can't collect it? Lol. Total bullshit.

LGD94

Romania’s airspace now: https://news.sky.com/story/romania-scrambles-fighter-jets-after-detecting-suspicious-weather-balloon-in-its-airspace-12810949 Romania scrambles fighter jets after detecting suspicious 'weather balloon' in its airspace

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

Yup. And this is y I don't buy what the U.S. government is putting out there. They're seeing these things because they've adjusted their sensors? Lol. No. They've always been there and the fact that other parts of the world are reporting the same thing leads me to believe that world leaders can no longer control the narrative.

ExoticCard

Sightings are increasing...

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

Yes sir they are. I'm trying to keep up with all this but my head feels like it's about to explode. Perhaps I should not debate the shit posters anymore lol.

Bitter_Coach_8138

Except apparently Romanian jets couldn’t locate it after scrambling

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

Same thing happened in Montana. They picked it up on radar and our jets couldnt find it.

EarthInteresting9781

I noticed the senator mentioning that this been happening a long time…he specifically mentioned the dates - 2017 and 2019 - are there any news articles that we dig up that can maybe refer to what he is talking about?

thegrumpus

2017 was the year the lue elizondo and co started their efforts to bring it the ufo conversation back into the mainstream. Most disclosure efforts we see today from that group started with the 2017 NYT article featuring elizondo talking about the secret ufo program he oversaw and how there are unexplainable things in our airspace

halfbrite

The only thing that springs to mind are the tic-tac and gimbal videos, though I think one of those might have been floating around the internet a bit longer before being officially acknowledged - pardon the pun.

Rearviewmirror1

Read this - https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/40054/adversary-drones-are-spying-on-the-u-s-and-the-pentagon-acts-like-theyre-ufos

InitialFabulous3747

And let's be real, since 2017 is not a "long, long time." I found that odd.

greg0525

I think he actually referred back to the ancient times.

foma_kyniaev

Saying its advanced alien race would be better excuse. Because them not knowing whats flying in their airspace despite having multi-trillion dollars of hardware is laughable

J_Babe87

Right?! They must really not know what's going on because they look like incompetent idiots.

EmonOkari

John Kirby to Katy Tur on MSNBC Live (3:45pm EST): The objects were most likely benign balloons of commercial origin, shot down in an 'abundance of caution'. In the coming days, they will be able to share more about these objects, and how they will process and monitor them in the future.

ExoticCard

Don't tell me Lockheed was flying some secret reverse engineered technology...

wahoosjw

Have they recovered debris? Has someone claimed them? What new info is pointing towards commercial balloons? What took them so long to say balloon and why are they now? There's a lot of questions that need answers with this assertion

d_happa

>The objects were most likely benign balloons of commercial origin, shot down in an 'abundance of caution'. If these are indeed commercial entities, doesn't the US govt. have a responsibility to find who they were (including non US entities) and prosecute them legally, bring sanctions etc. ?

[deleted]

Why did they have a classified briefing this morning about benign balloons? And wasn’t there a senator saying they were very worried about the lack of transparency experienced during the classified meeting?

J_Babe87

That's what I was thinking. If things were all pointing towards harmless benign craft floating around, why brief all the senators?? Just adds more confusion to everything. None of this adds up at all.

halfbrite

A few senators have expressed various concerns over the lack of transparency. There seems to be a general agreement on that matter. The “benign commercial balloon” theory was labelled as the “leading theory” in the intelligence community today during the White House press brief. It’s an easy solution to the puzzle. However it does not result in identification of all UAP, and the classified briefing appears to have covered a lot more, leading to these concerns over a lack of transparency to the public.

Purplepicklewind1234

If I was Katy Tur I would have asked John Kirby if they have all Senator intelligence briefings on Party City balloons a lot

barelyreadsenglish

Comercial balloons at 20k and 40k feet that people just said fuck it let the military deal with it risking huge fines, there aren't any images of them so the public can come out and say yes I know who make those and they can't recover any. Sure.

Purplepicklewind1234

Right? My neighbors the other weekend lost a big bundle of balloons for some party they had that day. Didn't see any jets from the naval base, literally down the street from us, launch to intercept it

dinodebino

Joe’s Restaurant let some birthday balloons fly too high? The size of a car?

EmonOkari

...over the Yukon.

Purplepicklewind1234

Hell of an expensive way to accomplish that goal. The government just loves the balloon excuse huh?

cerealsnax

They definitely aren't US craft, and the fact that they aren't shooting them down more means they aren't foreign craft. So what's left?

dayswing

> and the fact that they aren't shooting them down more means they aren't foreign craft Why do you draw this conclusion?

cerealsnax

If they were foreign craft and we are just letting thousands of them fly around in our skies with no issue, that would be a huge issue.

wahoosjw

They literally shot them down though?

cerealsnax

And then they suddenly stopped, and admitted there were tons in the sky. Why stop?

wahoosjw

Give me a source where they say there are currently "tons" of these in our airspace

cerealsnax

The entire r/UFO right now, but specifically Senator Kennedy and what he said: [https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/112aa4q/sen\_kennedy\_responds\_after\_classified\_briefing/](https://www.reddit.com/r/UFOs/comments/112aa4q/sen_kennedy_responds_after_classified_briefing/) He basically says: These objects have been in our airspace for years…many years. Everyone is OK with the fact that, for years, unidentified objects have been occupying our airspace, we are unable to locate the debris now that we’ve shot some down, and we should just accept that and not be concerned about a potential danger in our skies that we know nothing about.

wahoosjw

There have been plenty of UAPs in our airspace for decades. It's a known fact and has been for a while. There are taskforces dedicated to studying them. I don't think these objects are particularly interesting, and think USG is likely being pretty honest when they say they shot them down bc they were a danger to commercial flight. I don't believe the Senators remarks meant that there are "tons" of these specific balloon things hovering at commercial cruising altitude as we speak. And I think that's why the take downs stopped

C0RPSEGRINDER666

lmao "Is President Biden Woke?" idk bro its the middle of the afternoon. It's probably nap time.

pompomdotcomcom

He literally just gave a televised address

thegroove2

"We will be seeing more information on this topic later this week" -Karine Jean-Pierre we will see about that

yannickrb

Something to think about: if these objects are man made, from a foreign country and hover around commercial airspace they appear to be a security threat, an even bigger threat if they are spy technology. So with hundreds of reported sightings of these objects in question we should see the USAF intercepting them on a daily base with there radars adjusted. But if we don’t (what I strongly believe) they are definitely Not from an foreign country, and they seem to be from the US neither (otherwise they wouldn’t be taken down - not a single take down in NORADS history before). In conclusion I think they are indeed extra terrestrial, if we don’t see more interceptions by now. Excuse my bad English, I’m from Germany.

SabineRitter

Your English is great 👍 and I agree with you

SloMoMonday

I've had a casual interest in UFOs for a while but this is a mind bending series of events. Even if it's not aliens, magic super-tech or an expensive practical joke; there's somthing frustrating about the most funded organizations on earth saying they don't know what occupies their airspace or that they spent a good few million to shoot down. Extraterrestrial life should be the least existential issue in this whole situation.

Witty-Bid1612

You expressed perfectly how I feel -- will just add that it's interesting they're reporting on it now, however lightly. I feel like in the past it would've been completely hushed up. Is it because of the Pentagon task force being "out and open" now? It's almost worse; not sure what the heck to make of it all.

C0RPSEGRINDER666

Press Briefing Summary: "I just don't have anything to share" "I don't want to get ahead of anything"

greg0525

How arrogant, by the way.

adarkuccio

I'm expecting this ufo/balloons hunt to slow down in the coming days, maybe now they took care of all they found and that's it.

vulcan7200

That's exactly what I'm thinking. As other news worthy events take place the Government will be able to slowly let this fade into irrelevance releasing "findings" stating that it was nothing to worry about in the first place so stop asking questions.

sonofalovinduck

Wtf was that senators “lock your doors tonight” comment about lmao

What's up Mike?

fuzzy_wizzle_nutz

Maybe you're right. But to pretend like you know more than leading scientists and physicists is ridiculous. Academia is now starting to participate in studies of UAP. Also, there is no wreckage. They can't recover it supposedly.

pf30146788e

You’re not the first person to say this, and it’s stupid.

n3ws4cc

Okay here we go: Imagine humanity lives another 10000 years and figures everything out from politics to free energy and space travel. Humanity goes to explore the universe and finds it is very empty. Then one day it finds a little planet with a bunch of aliens on it that have only just begun a digital age and barely managed to get equipment to the nearest planet. Their planet has nothing of value to humanity for space has everything in abundance. What does humanity do? It has to decide if it wants to make contact with the aliens. If it doesn't want to, say maybe because it could be unethical to interfere with a species still developing and evolving, it might still want to study the aliens. So they put up some inconspicuous probes to gather data. Nothing too big or scary because you don't want to scare the aliens if they stumble upon it. Certainly nothing armed. Like a wildlife camera! If humanity does want to make contact it would certainly do its homework first. Figure out who are these aliens, and what do they believe? Humanity learns the aliens are very violent and constantly at war with each other. Their countries spend more on weapons than anything else. Well you might not want to send down a welcome party and have it attacked, even if the aliens could never hurt it. It would set everything off on the wrong foot. What one could do is send down some small things for the aliens to find. Allow them to shoot them and let them figure out by themselves that humanity is present. Let them think about the fact and then announce yourself directly. See my point? There are plenty scenarios like this where we would not see an armed to the teeth battleship descending upon washington. To scream that we shot it therefore it must not be ET is short sighted.

SirBrothers

They’re probably not even here - if it’s alien they’re likely simple probes. Simple in the sense that they collect and transmit data. If it’s aliens and they’re as present as suggested, they’re probably 3D printing the things from afar. If that’s the case, they’re not likely equipped with any weaponry. I don’t think any remote tribe with sticks and spears would have trouble capturing the mars rover or something similar.

[deleted]

who says they couldn't hypothetically be cheap simple probes that they saw no need to weaponise or protect?

mckirkus

Did we though? Two options, the wreckage is really hard to find, or, there is no wreckage. Or cover-up conspiracy as option 3 I guess.

zomboy1111

A bear can still destroy your camera. We're at least a few million years ahead of them in evolution when it comes to being a civilized species, if they can even become a civilized species at all.

absolutelynotagoblin

Actually, it's kinda silly to defiantly state with supreme certainty that you alone understand the logistical and defensive capabilities of alien life forms. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk.

yahmean2020

They have not found the debris, how do you even know they shot it down?

ConicalHonker

Let me preface this comment by saying that I am a skeptic on this subject and always try to keep an open mind. I want to believe but I also don’t want to *have to* believe, if you catch my drift. Like many of you I was first introduced to this topic through the 2017 NYT article and still find that reporting to be among the finest, most credible I have seen on the subject. The past few days have been absolutely wild and I’m hoping that we are able to get some answers as to what exactly is going on, whether it be terrestrial or extraterrestrial. When entertaining the extraterrestrial hypothesis, I think it is very important to note that the burden of proof is likely much, much higher from a governmental perspective. The fact that the government isn’t outright denying these are extraterrestrial in origin has me extremely curious as that seems like it would be among the first things that *could* be ruled out. Anyway, I’m just very excited to see where this takes us and I’m happy to see this subject being talked seriously and with less and less condescension everyday. Thanks for all of the fun banter and analysis on the sub, these are indeed interesting and exciting times regardless of the outcome!

SoluteGains

The White House Press secretary did outright deny that these are extra terrestrial... Of course no follow up question asking how she knows that.

EmonOkari

Sen. Coons to Katy Tur on MSNBC Live (3:10pm EST): "The three objects were not national security threats. They were shot down in an 'abundance of caution'."

vulcan7200

Them claiming they're not security threats, while saying "We don't know what they are, who made them, and what they were doing" is just silly. I fully believe they shot them down in an "abundance of caution". We're not questioning why they were shot down in the first place. We're questioning WHAT did they shoot down.

muffpatty

This is what makes no sense. We don't know what it is, but we know it isn't a threat. Even though it isn't a threat, we will make a huge show for force and shoot them down. Again, no threat.

starhawks

Are you aware of what "abundance of caution" means?

muffpatty

[I AM AWARE!](https://seinfeldmemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/AA5AC73C-8FB1-47DC-9D4B-77B939F11D7B.jpeg)

OriginalRelief4836

Has the White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre always this weird uncomfortable and something hiding type of body language ?

atxdevdude

Every White House press secretary is like that, they lie for a living regardless of who is in office that’s their job

My_Penbroke

Nah man Jen Psaki was cold as ice. She could brief me any day, fwiw.

Easee99

“We will have to circle back to that” literally every press secretary in the same words or others. Dodge questions and talk in circles

sumredditaccount

hold up... (same)

Atlas070

Are they really just not going to tell us anything about these objects after making such a big deal out of shooting them down? This is all so weird.

mortgagesblow

This is 100% slow-drip. We have been exposed just a tiny bit more to reality (similar to the congressional hearing last year, and the leaked footage from a few years prior). Expect something new, and slightly-more-damning in the next year or 2. This is all by design.

Atlas070

I hope you're right

Warped_Mindless

Correct. You will hear less and less about it until eventually no one speaks of it and we will still have no more information than we do right now. A year from now very few people will even remember anything about it.

Atlas070

That's the vibe I'm getting

muffpatty

r/UFOs never forgets.

ExoticCard

In fact, we are growing due to this. Imagine how many members of the general public have shifted views on UAP due to this.

muffpatty

This place has been my quiet guilty pleasure for years. I can actually talk about it out loud now without getting crazy looks lol

lambo227

“Could be for commercial or research purposes” “Have any companies reached out and said that these objects are theirs?” “No” 🤨

mciaccio1984

No companies or countries are claiming these things. China straight up admitted the balloon was theirs. But not a soul is claiming the other three objects shot down. They really think we the people are this stupid.

vulcan7200

And one of the reports asked a very good question about if maybe someone isn't coming forward due to the legal troubles they'd be in, and the press secretary still just blew past that question with a "I'm not going to go into that". You would think if the US truly didn't know what these were, who made them, and what they were doing they'd be open to whoever owned them (Assuming commercial/research) coming to them in private and saying "Yes it was ours."

Bitter_Coach_8138

Russian planes intercepted off Alaska. I know that’s a semi frequent occurrence, but ballsy given the itchy trigger finger the USAF has at the moment. Wonder if they aren’t trying to get a look at the debris/search efforts up there themselves.

greg0525

Coz they want to put their hands on alien technology.

n3ws4cc

That is pretty nuts to be doing right now. Got a link for me?

Bitter_Coach_8138

I don’t, it was a headline on fox news

Wow, this press conference is so bad. her body language is so telling that she is trying to hide her lying. This is weird. (Initial impulsive comment). Edited with more to the comment below. After fully watching the conference, I believe her behaviors, fumbling for words and frustrations, are that she has not been briefed. Not so much that her behavior was lying, more that she knew she was going in blind to these types of questions and had frustrations over trying to answer them without giving any kind of answer. She came in with many distractions, cookies, valentines, etc. As we all figured, nothing was answered, and they won't share due to security reasons.

I actually don't think she knows that much. Why would they need to give her more information than what they want the public to know? It doesn't help them at all to fill her in on all of the details as her only job is talking to the American People about what they want us to know.

Poonce

I also firmly agree that her script was what it was during this conference. She probably doesn't know much, and what she does know can't be shared, thus her fumbling and defensive stance.

Modal_Window

You're really reading into this. When did you become a body language expert?

Poonce

I'm a behavioral technician and behavioral therapist

CoyotePuncher

I'm an elephant

Poonce

Welcome to the room, elephant.

Kindly_Pass_586

Didn’t you know. Everybody is an expert on everything on Reddit

Poonce

I'm a behavioral technician and therapist with a behavioral analysis background. I work with children with autism. They are harder to read than this press secretary.

Modal_Window

Would a press secretary be given the details of classified information that is normally only available to Generals and the like?

Poonce

I assume not, but her behavior points to her knowing that her superiors know something is up and she has not been fully informed on purpose.

Modal_Window

She'll be wearing a bikini at the foot of Jabba's platform soon enough.

Poonce

Who is the Salacious Krum in this?

SabineRitter

OK so that's totally different from lying, which is what you originally said..

Poonce

Yes, those were my initial observations, but as all things, they can change, shift, and develop into something other than. I concluded her frustration, defensive behavior, and fumbling for words were due to her having to face such questions while being kept in the dark. She proceeded to try and shift attention the entire time by using distractions like cookies, valentines, and the economy. I, too, have behavioral triggers and cuts like everyone. My initial interpretation needed to be flushed out further with further watching of the conference itself.

SabineRitter

Thanks, can you edit your original comment? Seeing people throw around blanket accusations of lying gets really tiresome.

Poonce

I'd be happy to

White House Briefing live, in case someone missed it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX6l3Htb1WI

The Russians admitted to collecting theirs. Nothing on it since though

C0RPSEGRINDER666

body language is telling. Every time Karine Jean-Pierre says there is nothing to worry about she blinks multiple times and her facial expression change.

Modal_Window

Not everyone stares unblinkingly with a stone expression. Her body language is fine.

starhawks

You people are hilarious. Maybe the blinking was a message sent in some kind of code too!!

Attlely

Gotta love people coming in here and acting like assholes about speculation in a UFO subreddit. It’s fun! Lighten up!

n3ws4cc

She's good at answering a question with a lot of words that are not answering a question. Guess this press conference ain't it yet.

PaperThoughts

She’s authorized only to give the information she has said lol. What can she do?

n3ws4cc

Yeah nothing much. But shes good at it. Good for her.

SirBrothers

Yep. Watched about twenty seconds and I turned it off lol.

muffpatty

I'm pretty sure that is in the job description. Lol

absolutelynotagoblin

We want to keep you safe in airplanes, that's why we shot them down. But they're totally benign! Just... benign.... whatever-they-ares! Ha-ha! Valentines day everybody! Eat some cookies!

Ikarus_Zer0

The last 24 hours have been very exciting. I cant think of why they would say they can’t recover them. That leaves the door wide open for even the largest skeptics to say “you couldn’t shoot a balloon out of the sky?”. Why not just say “we have recovered some materials and they are on their way to be analyzed”. Even if they hadn’t found anything, admitting to finding nothing is way crazier. Showing nothing for all that money is making Me lean towards them telling the truth. “Yeah we gave it a go and it turns out everyone, we actually can’t shoot them down”, lock your doors kids.

SaltyWihl

Can we conclude that noone have officaly managed to recover any debri at this time?

[deleted]

nope but we can conclude that somebody is definitely lying > The warplane was scrambled from Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage. Gen Ryder said a significant amount of debris had been recovered so far. It was being loaded on to vessels and taken to "labs for subsequent analysis", he added. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-64605447

ExoticCard

Fuck, I opened the article to see if you had mistaken this for the spy balloon debris. **You're right, they are lying**

ButterscotchScared75

The longer they keep going saying they don't know what it is, can't find any debris, etc.. the more likely that it actually is alien technology.
