Weekly Free Talk Thread - new and fresh every Monday!

For the first time in 2 years, there is an MCU movie this week. I’ve been to the movies plenty of times in the last 8 months, but I know I am going to cry when that intro comes back onto the big screen. Beyond excited.
Lucky break mate! Have fun!
That's so dope! Theatres still closed here so I've rented a projector and will stream it in my backyard. So excited!
beautiful setup 10/10
Big brain moo(ve) there.
You're lucky my dude. It'll have to be premiere access for me. Just hoping the theaters open here by Shang-Chi so I don't have to dodge spoilers for 45 days
As a great soldier once said "Patience is the key to victory. Sometimes it leads to little, it feels like it isn't worth it, and you wonder why you waited so long for something so disappointing."
You know what I'm taling about.
I know, waiting to see the film about arachnid-based superheroes has been so excruciating. I’m glad that I finally get to see it on Thursday.
I would prefer the term "arachno-humanoids". They clearly do not possess eight limbs.
It would actually be hilarious if that is the end credits scenes for NWH again.
- I hope Tobey and Andrew don’t reference the comics Spider-Verse event in No Way Home. Keep the comics multiverse and live action/ cinematic multiverse separate. Treat this as their first venture into the multiverse/ meeting other Spider-Men.
- I hope Tobey and Andrew wear their Spidey outfits in No Way Home. Hopefully Marvel/ Disney haven’t already met their Spidey merchandise quota with Holland’s three suits.
- I think there’s still a good chance NWH could be delayed to 2022 if something unexpected related to covid happens in the Fall.
It getting pushed to 2022 would make it fall on the 5th anniversary of Homecoming, the 10th anniversary of The Amazing Spider-Man, and the 20th anniversary of Spider-Man (2002).
- ~~I’m skeptical about how much the Loki show will “set up” Multiverse of Madness, since it was originally slated to be released after WV and MoM.~~ (Edit: nvm)
- I absolutely agree I'd be 100% okay if the MCU was Earth-616. Don't need my live action mixed with the comics
- agreed again their suits are iconic to their films and itd be a sin to change them
- that's really cool and would almost make it worth getting pushed back
- yeah same I think it's more thematically connected rather than set up connected.
> I absolutely agree I'd be 100% okay if the MCU was Earth-616. Don't need my live action mixed with the comics
Yeah, the way I see it, a version of the MCU (Earth-19999999) is in the comics multiverse, but the comics multiverse isn’t canon to the MCU we’re watching.
The MCU may as well be Earth-616.
If the comics did other multiverse spanning events, the MCU/ Marvel Studios shouldn’t bend over backwards to reference what Marvel Comics decided to do.
Even DC’s live action multiverse isn’t connected to their comics multiverse or animated stuff so far.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’s multiverse might be separate from everything else as well, since Peter B Parker’s Earth is 616 and Mile’s is 1610. If Holland, Maguire, Garfield, or etc make an appearance in those films, it might not necessary be the same as the ones we see in the films, but gotta see how the multiverse is handled in NWH and the ITSV sequel to be sure.
While it is true that Loki was originally slated for after MoM, that was with Scott Derrickson. After Sam Raimi was brought on and the movie was delayed, Michael Waldron, the showrunner for Loki, did a rewrite.
So I wouldn't be so skeptical bud.
Oh, that makes sense
* I also do hope Tobey, Andrew & Tom bond over their loss of their loved ones in their respective universes, especially Uncle Ben.
* I also do hope we get to see a montage of the three Peters working together to upgrade their suits & gadgets before their big final fight with the Sinister Six.
* Finally, I also hope to see Tobey & Andrew 'passing their torch' to Tom by giving him their gifts & advice from their universes.
The 60th anniversary of Spider-Man as a character as well.
Wow, 2022 is a very big year for Spidey (even bigger if NWH gets delayed 😝)
Yep. And that’s not even taking ITSV2 and a potential Insomniac sequel into account.
Unless I'm mistaken, 2022 could be the year we see all three cinematic Spider-Men together onscreen for the first time, the 5th anniversary of Homecoming, 10th anniversary of The Amazing Spider-Man, 20th anniversary of the first Raimi movie, 55th anniversary of the 60s cartoon, 45th anniversary of the 70s live action show, 60th anniversary of the character, the release of ITSV2, and probably the release of Spider-Man 2 on PS4.
I could be misremembering the years for the 60s show and the Nicholas Hammond show though, but I'm pretty sure they're 1967 and 1977.
Forget Sony, even Marvel will probably want to push it back now. Being able to market the year of Spidey? Fuck yes.
It *would* be really cool but god, I hope not. I want to see it ASAP lol
They have nothing to lose if it’s pushed back since they haven’t even started marketing. No posters, billboards, advertisements or released toys except social media.
> I’m skeptical about how much the Loki show will “set up” Multiverse of Madness, since it was originally slated to be released after WV and MoM
It's pretty clear that this is where it's heading. Wanda's been revealed as a nexus being and is tampering with the multiverse, Loki(s) is trying to bring down an organization which prides its on being the sole force in protecting the timeline from splitting.
Anyone else kind of bummed Watts is directing F4? I like his spidey movies and I’m happy for him that he got the gig, but I feel like his spidey movies don’t really have a lot of stakes and I’m not the biggest fan of his directing style, so I’d rather Fiege take a risk with a more unknown director. I don’t want to feel like I’m watching a Watts movie when I’m watching F4, and I’m concerned I might feel that when that movie eventually releases
Not me. FFH was superbly directed. I was hoping for Brad Bird as he already made good F4 movies twice, but this will do.
Remember that Peter Tingle scene at the end where he blindly takes down a lot of drones in a cool one-take?
I have faith in him but he does seem to take serious moments and make them comedic :(.
Lmao that’s like every Marvel movie though, why single out Watts?
Literally gunn, taika, watts they all do it
Taika does that a little too
Even if he does, at least his funny moments are actually funny lol
Yeah, I kinda wish other people got the chance to direct F4, just remember, anything can happen.
APPARENTLY, now take this with a grain of salt, but apparently the John Hughes stuff was Feige’s idea. That’s what he was looking for in his search for a director.
Yeah, I'm not amped for it. Maybe the casting will fire me up, or the particular premise they go with to introduce them.
(now, just hire Kate Herron for Spidey like she wants)
I really like Watts but man Kate Herron Spidey would be amazing.
yeah i was hoping they will give him a break i don't like his action sequences but lets see how nwh does then i will speculate how good or bad F4 is going to be
NWH will (supposedly) have all three movie Spider-Men in action in it, and I imagine there's a chance of Doctor Strange and (if he *is* in it) Daredevil action, so this movie has a LOT of pressure on it to deliver some quality action, IMO.
(For the record, I'm pretty firmly in the "Matt Murdock and the legacy Spideys are in it" camp just out of trust in certain leakers)
yeah i like russo brother's version of peter wayyy more than jon watts. for some reason jon watt's peter always seem dumber to me. no quipping, no nothing.
Same thing with me I was so excited when they announced f4 but the hype all died when jon watts showed up on screen.
Hard same. I'll love to be proven wrong in the future, but rn I'm dreading this announcement
Also, this thread is useful till Wednesday's Loki premier only. After that, boom! Black Widow gets its own thread. Enjoy it while it lasts, people.
You too my friend!
I really hope NWH has some funny moments between all three spidermen. I recently watched the Sam Rami trilogy and didn’t realize how unintentionally funny Tobey Maguire is lmao he makes shit so much funnier then it needs to be
Tobey Maguire is so awesome at being a dork xD!
I recently rewatched spiderman 1, and William Defoe as Norman was funnier than I remember
Honestly pretty hyped For The Suicide Squad and surprisingly Snake Eyes as well
Snake Eyes was my favorite GI Joe. Glad they chose him for a spin-off.
TSS is gonna be somthing truly special and better than the first one imo.
I know not every company needs to do a Cinematic universe but one day i do hope Paramount decides to do a Hasbro Universe with Transformers, G.I Joe, Jem, Micronauts and other properties
They've announced a plan for this a long while ago. I remember them announcing a Micronauts movie from the guy behind How to Train your Dragon trilogy pre-pandemic. They made a god-awful Jem reboot in 2016 known for its infamously low BO. Bayformers+The Rock's GI Joe francise+Jem reboot+Micronauts was the initial plan; all of them were either god-awful or never made (except GI Joe: Retaliation) so development hell for now.
Isn’t Transformers going the classic route now?
Snake Eyes is another movie that feels like its coming way too late. GI Joe retaliation came out in 2013. This movie should have come out in between the first 2 GI Joe movies.
That's sadly true. Retailation is a guilty pleasure movie for me. I would've liked to see more of Ray Park's Snake Eyes. Also you throw away the Rock in his prime! What???
Weird observations: it's kinda like part 2 of a trilogy this year:
Mortal Kombat, Snake Eyes, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
2021 has been killing it when it comes to Kung Fu films.
I hope to god this Delta variant doesn't send us right back to square one all over again.
The current vaccines can combat the Delta variant so I'm not too concerned. Besides, people miss going to the theatres. I watched In The Heights last week and it was way more packed than I expected.
never have i ever seen a popular user like hush. homie be on every post and on top of dat everyone be hating on him for no reason. someone even made a imposter account of his ass to make him look bad so the mods could ban him like the fuck? been on reddit and just haven’t seen one user who not a mod or leaker just be so damn popular where 400K people now who he is
man is relentless, he will reply to almost every comment on posts like the free talk thread, even comments that don’t warrant replies
Lmao fr he s big marvel fan dat for sure
Some people got time. He interacts a *lot* here. Keeps discussions alive. And that gets on some people's nerves as this is Reddit. You don't need a reason to have people be pissed at you.
He was getting a bit irritating for me so I blocked him. Others should do the same if they are annoyed by him. Hating on him would be useless since he seems to be very invested in this sub-reddit and won't stop interacting.
>someone even made a imposter account of his ass to make him look bad
That's pathetic lol
He’s a wholesome kid
man he seems like a cool guy why people do shit like that
>someone even made a imposter account of his ass to make him look bad so the mods could ban him
Someone clearly has nothing better to do
He replied to a month old comment of mine (which was stickied on a post) not once but twice. That's not normal.
I know that it’s going to be marketed heavily closer to release, but after seeing the Lego and Funko leaks, i have a hard time believing NWH will begin marketing with the Spider-Verse. I think the first trailer will heavily focus on Peter being on the run, his interactions with Strange, and probably have the ending be a multiverse villain.
With how quick the second Shang-Chi trailer came, I think they’ll do something similar and go all out with Andrew and Tobey by the second trailer.
And right you are
The Black & Gold suit for No Way Home, IF it looks as great in live-action as it does on the toys, may be my favorite non-Red & Blue Spider-Man suit yet. I love that we're getting a full black suit (the Night Monkey suit doesn't count. It didn't have a spider logo or webbing design), and the gold webbing is such a great look. If only it was a black suit because of a certain Venom symbiote.....but nonetheless I'm happy we're still getting a black suit.
Can’t wait to see how it looks since we can’t go based off the toys.
What do we think the nexus events were for the Loki variants? Sylvie my bet was fundamentally changing to be “good” and loved in her family in a way that made her truly astray from the “Loki” function of the universe.
I don’t understand how she even existed. Assuming there is only one Sacred Timeline, she would have been taken away at birth since she shouldn’t have been born and the TVA would have reset the event, allowing male Loki to be born instead. But her backstory implies she had a childhood and grew up i Asgard before she was taken away, meaning there existed an alternate timeline in which she was born and the TVA did not interfere until much later. But how did that alternate timeline even come into existence?
Jury's still out on how much BS the TVA is shoveling but for now it just seems like Multiverse =? Timeline. The sacred timeline is a rope rather than a single strand, so parallel realities can exist so long as they stay close and converge on the same endpoint.
Sylvie being born a girl isn't triggering itself, because there's nothing about Loki's arc that we know about that requires him to be male. A female Loki can become the Avengers villain just as easily.
Many have theorized the nexus event was the very moment she was taken, where she was playing with the Valkryie figurine, saving Asgard. That children's fantasy sets her on a path to being heroic rather than villainous, and that's why she catches the attention of the TVA.
> Sylvie being born a girl isn't triggering itself, because there's nothing about Loki's arc that we know about that requires him to be male. A female Loki can become the Avengers villain just as easily.
While I completely agree with this position, I would *love* to know how Alligator Loki was timeline-fine for long enough to grow that big.
Theory im pulling straight from my ass. Was a kid loki practicing shifting into other people/things and fucked it up and got stuck like that. That was his nexus
Sylvie alluded to it: sometimes the universe wants chaos. The universe in it’s infinite repetitions and flow of time created an anomaly where “Loki” was born a female. The universe itself throws wild cards, which is probably why the TVA eternally functions. The TVA monitors for nexus events which can be anything small or massive so long as it creates such a dramatic change that their choices ultimately create multiple timelines. In theory Sylvie can live her life without much attention so long as she didn’t deviate further from what the Sacred Timeline said.
We also got a bit of lore in episode 2 with out difficult navigating time travel becomes when a nexus event begins to start throwing off the proper flow.
Supposedly Kid Loki killed his Thor
Seems pretty far removed from comic Kid Loki lol
here for my weekly bring back evan peters and charlie cox
Keep fighting the good fight! We gon get them back somehow
With basically every other Young Avenger now in or confirmed for the MCU in at least one form, I'm just chomping at the bit for any kind of news about Teddy Altman.
I'll settle for news about who's playing the aged-up versions of Billy and Tommy, but as a fan of Hulkling from the beginning, I need some news about my King of Space.
Same, Hulkling is my favorite Marvel character and to see him excluded from rosters people post in favor of people completely unrelated to the team has been irritating. He is a legit Space King, devoted husband and I also just appreciate a character that is just a really sweet person.
Teddy absolutely lives up to his name as a goddamn teddy bear of a person and with all the neuroses of the entire Young Avengers team (especially if they include Kid/Teen Loki and do a variation on his long-con effort to steal Billy's powers) they need the sweet soft boi.
Someone said Jack Dylan Grazer should play grown up Billy, and honestly, I'd kind of be here for it
A crazy theory that’s isn’t like able and it’s gonna get downvoted to oblivion:
Considering some leakers are saying that Andrew and Tobey are going in more things and having 3 Spidey franchises will be to boring here’s something they can do.
Imagine in the post-credits scene we see Andrew in a lab creating something and we see a new suit that comic fans will be familiar and through the dialogue we find out that in the time between TASM2 and NWH he has swapped bodies with Doc Ock and we see that he has finished a Multiverse travel devise.
I know it isn’t likeable but after seeing Mainstream I would pay anything to see Andrew as Superior Spider-man.
That would be nuts! :D
I’d prefer if one of them sticked around in the MCU for a while if they were to go down that route.
Maybe Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man could become the Scarlet Spider.
I’m so goddamn excited for Secret Invasion and I’ve just gotta get that off my chest. I’ve been fielding for another secretive story like CATWS and I’m hoping Secret Invasion delivers on that aspect. Also the cast looks stacked and it’s also supposed to be years in the making, the show has so much going for it I just can’t stop being hyped. It’s a little while to go but that is my number 1 MCU project for the future.
I just can't wait to see emilia clarke in the mcu finally
And the all star cast!
Man the Track “Reset Charges” from the Loki soundtrack is so good. Big shout out to Natalie Holt for making such an awesome score for the show. Can’t wait to see what she has for the final two episodes!
I’ll hopefully be seeing Black Widow next Sunday! It’s so surreal to me that the MCU is back in theaters finally. It’s been so much longer it feels. I’m especially excited to see Florence Pugh and David Harbor in the movie!
Natalie Holt's score just seamlessly blends so many different tonalities while maintaining the same ethereal atmosphere throughout. It never gets boring. I feel like this is the first MCU score in recent memory that really works when you listen to it by itself.
The trailer themes (doesn’t seem to be the main theme of Loki) are absolutely sick my dude :,). And the reset charges as well!
If u/MyTimeToShineHello is correct about the Loki variants being stuck in a Limbo called "Alioth" it could be all the more hinting towards Kang.
It could definitely be a work around of this
[Alioth (Temporal Limbo)](https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Alioth_(Temporal_Limbo))
>Alioth is the first being who broke free from the constraints of time. His empire is larger than that of Kang himself, stretching billions of years to before the rise of man on Earth. His domain is approximately x2 to x3 as large as Kang's temporal empire. It is because of Alioth that Kang never attempted to expand his empire vertically into more distant time eras and therefore extends only as far back as 2000 BC.
Kang created a barrier preventing Alioth from entering his domain. After Kang's death, Ravonna the Terminatrix accidentally released Alioth. Who then threatened Kang's former domain and all other temporal dominions further up the timestream. Ravonna and Revelation were able to revive Kang who provided the Avengers with the Chrono Key to use against Alioth. Which was in reality Tempus who upon being released inside Alioth grew to match it in power, locking the two in eternal combat. Later Kang would as part of his machinations to keep his rival temporal empires occupied, weakened Tempus so that Alioth would break through, invading the dominion of the Congress of Realities.
miss minutes being behind the tva makes a lot of sense as well, her voice actress said that we would see her past, maybe creating the tva?
i really hope wunmi (hunter b-15) has an easter egg variant or something that would keep her in season 2 because i really want to see more of her in the MCU im totally won over
i loved her banter with loki
Loved her in Lovecraft Country!
Idk if it's any relevant, but to catch up on Kang the conqueror I saw the Avengers animation from 2010 ( Earth's Mightiest heroes) and in the Kang episode, Kang has literally the same motivation as the TVA, to protect his sacred time-line.
I loved Kang in Earth’s Mightiest Heroes! Which is weird because I’ve disliked him in pretty much anything else I’ve seen him in
Begging for a nwh trailer tomorrow.
Do you guys think that we'll see Loki back in the MCU films after this show? I'm excited for the prospect of a season 2, and I'm immensely enjoying how the series is about Loki's perception and relationship with himself as opposed to his daddy issues and brother issues, but I really want to see him in the films again.
Man reason why I love Disney+ shows so much is how much depth it gives to certain characters, I'm going to be really excited about Loki getting in mix with Thor or any other character, and the change of dynamic
So what’s the general consensus on SpideyForever’s No Way Home leaks? Are we still thinking his initial plot leak is accurate or is it all bullshit?
Still think his initial plot leaks are correct. It's been backed up by other people so
Was SpideyForever the one who also said Ms. Marvel was going to be Mephisto's daughter (and it wasn't a joke)
My wild speculation is that the scene of Loki back in Stark Tower in his Avengers outfit saying "Glorious" in the trailer makes me think that after the TVA gets destroyed, all of the variants will be returned to their nexus points, but with their memories intact to allow them to make different choices. So Sylvie would get the childhood she lost.
I could get behind this
Assuming Kang does appear in Loki, do you think it’ll be just in a post credits scene or a larger appearance in an episode?
That’s a good call. I think that might be the most likely option at this point.
Going back to the Loki trailer from April and they totally edited out Sylvie (and a TVA portal) from the moment when they find them on Lamentis as it’s exploding
they also edited the hood on her when she fights the TVA guards in episode 3. obviously to hide that it’s her under the hood but thought that was interesting too.
I saw a comment pointing something out that I don’t see anybody talking about here. After Sylvie decapitates the Time Keeper, a voice is clearly heard whispering “see you soon.” This doesn’t appear in the subtitles, but if you change the audio to a different language the sound changes with it, so it’s definitely intentionally placed dialogue. Any thoughts?
I watched In The Heights last week and it was an incredible musical, it was way better than I expected. I hope it ends up being a cult classic because it's severly underrated.
The Center Timekeeper (CTK) looks like [Jonathan Majors](https://imgur.com/yZrTEnJ).
But the CTK also appears to have the frame of a [woman](https://imgur.com/54vcirv), which would be consistent with comics having one woman in the [trio](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/marveldatabase/images/e/ef/Time-Keepers_from_Avengers_Forever_Vol_1_10_0002.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20210307044246).
Well wait, the CTK in the chamber scene looks like [this](https://imgur.com/jogOlII). That’s not Majors or a woman, so what the fuck?
In fact, the [whole trio](https://imgur.com/4esFGlN) doesn't seem to match the cartoon.
And the [TK statues](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E5BZjJyVIAIfmNJ?format=jpg&name=large) look different from both of those!
Is there a narrative reason behind the different likenesses?
If modeling the cartoon on Majors was an intentional tease of Kang, why back off that choice for the VFX scene?
The Time-Keepers are fake, bud. Mindless androids used to project an illusion.
Sure I know that. I just think it's funny how we argued about the TK looking like Majors since maybe that was only coincidence after all?
Absolutely. Some resemblance was there. Until the fake-out which rendered all such discussions pointless.
P.S. Remember the infamous shot of Mobius/Loki driving to a Sphinx of some sort? Rama-Tut is one of the many aliases of Kang.
The only real big lingering question I have about the Time Keepers is who voiced them.
No-one was credited, and with the level to which all of their voices were processed, I personally wouldn't be surprised if all three were voiced by Jonathan Majors
I think the timekeepers are bullshit. When Kang appears, I think he will be his own figure, controlling Renslayer
i honestly thought tom holland and zendaya were trending the other day because the trailer released...but good for them i guess!
Most excited MCU project
Mine are: nwh thor4 ,ds2 Armor wars
I don’t know if it’s my most excited, but Captain Marvel 2 really skyrocketed in hype for me. Even though I though the first one was just a middle tier MCU movie. Having it be called the Marvels, and putting Monica and Kamala in the spotlight too is enough to really get my excitement up
In this order:
3. DS2: MOM
4. Moon Knight
5. Thor 4: L&T
6. What If...?
7. Ms. Marvel
8. Black Widow
No disrespect to Hawkeye or BW or Ms. Marvel, but I like the weird cosmic side of the MCU more than the rooted earthly side.
I prefer the rooted side more as they involve machines and hand to hand combat.bith of which iam a fan of
But yeah the cosmic side is weird af now.so many movies,so little time.im excited
Keep thinking they HAVE to show andrew and tobey in the trailer.. the backlash if they don't... is not even a surprise at this point
Idk is the general audience that invested?
the loudest part of social media that comments on entertainment is
Yes, but that's not always indicative of the general audience.
What backlash? Are people that crazy that they will get angry that someone isn't in a trailer? I dont think people will be that self entitled
Do you guys think we'll get Throg this week?
We're getting Croc Loki so
I'd really like it for Kang to be behind the TVA, but I'd also like it if it was revealed to be a Loki variant or Miss Minutes (which would make this show even weirder)
Iirc, leakers said the big bad of Loki was a loki variant (some ppl even said it was gonna b "female loki"). Others say it's Kang. Put two and two together, what if "kang" is a Loki variant?
Edit: Also it's unreasonable to ask why the TVA is crickets about wanda creating a reality and becoming the nexus that she is when Loki starts RIGHT after the middle of endgame. So...the TVA IS fcked at the end of this and will be brought down. I'm sensing Kang is only a post-credits scene. If we're right, this leads to almost every movie succeeding this: NWH, DS:MOM, and even quantumania. the Quantumania was a surprise though.
Kang being a Loki variant is too much for me. Just let him be Kang. Otherwise all other Kang variants also will be Loki variants.
Okay, so I think-
Loki and Sylvie will destroy the TVA leading to a destruction of the timeline and multiverse. This will lead to Wanda who at this point is using the Darkhold to find a way of finding Tommy & Billy. She sense that the multiverse is opened and will use the darkhold to explore the Multiverse.
By Wanda exploring and opening layers of the multiverse, it will lead to Tobey & Andrew Spiderman being thrown into NWH through whatever villain is in NWH. My guess is Norman Osbourne (I think Alfred Molina/Doctor Octopus is going to be the first person to meet Norman after he accidently threw himself into his/our normal MCU timeline through a failed or succesful experiment by Doc Oc who found out in his timeline that something was up with the multiverse. They will both end up working together)
Doctor Strange realises this in NWH and through the events of NWH, battles the Multiverse and tracks down Wanda in the Multiverse leading to Doctor Strange 2 to help secure and control the Multiverse with Wanda being the main antagonist.
Now, if we want to go further-
In Loki, Kang was and is the big bad of the show. Kang was pulling all the strings and created the TVA to control his side of the multiverse, that being the timeline we know in the MCU. After Loki & Sylvie beat Kang, it is revealed that the reason time works differently in the TVA is because it is in the Quantum Realm as was said by Ant-Man in Endgame.
Now, Kang is rumoured to be the villain of Ant-Man & Wasp Quantumania. I think Kang is going to run off and encounter Ant-Man and the gang in an attempt for them to create a new TVA as they know how to travel and work in the Quantum Realm.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Kang as the new 'Thanos' for the next phases, though in a different manner than his Titan predecessor. Whereby the last Infinity Saga was a 'straightforward' huge war against Thanos, Kang would be more of a battle of wits as the Avengers, along with the new teams, X-Men & F4 has to deal with a trickster villain not unlike Loki who's one step ahead of them.
how are some people still not believing the multiverse is happening when there is literally a movie called doctor strange in the multiverse of madness smh...
I ain't a Spiderverse denier, but try this logic on for size:
WV leads into DS2. DS2 is about the multiverse. Therefore, WV is about the multiverse.
You cannot use the premise of DS2 as evidence for the premise of NWH. It doesn't work like that.
I re-watched Endgame, and most of the scenes, particularly in the final battle, just still seem so crazy to me. Having a scene where Captain America throws Thor's hammer for Spider-Man to web onto while carrying a Stark-made Infinity Gauntlet, alone, is something I never even dreamed of happening in the MCU yet it did.
I'm insanely excited to see where they go next with the franchise.
Idk if it was SpideyForever saying this (I swear I read this from him) but apparently in NWH, Peter starts to resent Tony for sort of dragging him into this situation in the first place. I really hope they go down that route because it really seems like an interesting angle to approach for our MCU Peter.
I'm a bit worried for Ant-Man 3 to be honest with Kang as the villian.
I know a lot of people rank Thor 2 as their worst MCU movie. But I honestly place Ant-Man and Wasp their for me. I seriously can't bring myself to get past the first 5 minutes. The truth serium, that terrible interrogation scene, the trope for the powers not working etc.
I just hope Reed can get Kang right because it really is the biggest leap in villians we've seen for a solo series. There's a massive difference between villians people don't really have expectations for such as Darren Cross. And someone like Kang the Conqueror.
Could hardly disagree more about *Ant-Man and the Wasp*, but to each their own I guess. I really enjoyed the smaller, family-centred focus of it as well as the light-hearted tone throughout, until the dark post-credits scenes.
week 2 of hoping Larry the cable guy gets a MCU role
I know that the rights of Spider-man in regard to movies are Sony while the part of animated series has Disney but, is there something specific for animated movies type for DVD or direct to streaming service?
To this day I am surprised that Spidey (and also all other Marvel characters in general) does not have comic arcs adapted to animated films like Batman and Superman seem to have every year.
Marvel does seriously need to step up their animation game. The What If series seems like a step in the right direction thankfully. I don’t even know if I truly liked the MODOK series, because I think I was just super happy to see some animated Marvel stuff
What is everyone’s favorite video games when it comes to Marvel? Outside of Spider-Man, I can only think of the first 2 Marvel Alliance video games, Deadpool, X-Men Origins Wolverine, Thor movie video game, and some Iron Man 3 mobile game auto scroller.
When it comes to Spider-Man though, essentially all the film games except TASM 2, a GBA game where you had to collect pizzas, Shattered Dimensions, Ultimate Spider-Man, the 2 original Spider-Man PS1 games, Spider-Man PS4 (haven’t played Miles Morales :/), some Spider-Man beat em up game where you unlock the villains the more you play, some mobile Spidey game that was a beat em up and half of the gameplay was the mechanics like the old God of War bosses (forgot the name of said mechanic), or TASM Mobile open world game.
This is one area where DC is better. Some truly great Spider-Man games vs the legendary Batman Arkham games and both the Injustice games. Also there are the upcoming Gotham Knights, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League
Can we make a thread for all the DanielRPK junk that's all posted. Most of it feels like it's fake or fabricated.
i want that one for superhero theorist
He’s been spot on when it comes to advertising.
So Matt Murdock's gonna be in **NWH**, and *Daredevil* is perfectly set up to be in **Echo** later on,
Jessica Jones is gonna be in **She-Hulk**,
Luke Cage and Iron Fist, well, we'll see.
As for Punisher? I've seen a lot of people theorising about where he could turn up, usually Armor Wars or Thunderbolts being the main ones suggested, but I personally think he'd fit nicely into **Captain America 4**.
I just think the dynamic of Frank Castle and Sam Wilson would be really interesting to see.
They've got similar backgrounds, both being veterans, but very different worldviews and mindsets - Frank being the ultimate cynic, Sam being all about hope and optimism etc
not marvel related but today i had the worst first day of degree college a little long read and plz don't mind my grammar
so all my lecture are long af no teacher is present and we are listening to only one teacher on zoom while we sit in a class like wtf just don't take class if you can't physically attend

Anybody else think they will do a scene in Loki with Loki and his mother, I was watching Endgame yesterday and I’ve always loved the scene between her and Thor and how he got his final moment with her and Loki never got that.
So why is Charles Murphy shittalking this subreddit on his twitter right now? Did I miss something?
No idea. I'm just here because I'm thirsty for Spider-Man, not aware of any drama.
We're dealing with the situation, and trying to rectify it.
Between Hawkeye & Ms. Marvel, which one is going to be released first?
I think most people are expecting *Ms. Marvel* in or around October, and *Hawkeye* from December.
Yeah but at the same time, people argued that Hawkeye finished their principal photography first before Ms. Marvel.
So yeah, at this point it is still up in the air.
likely Ms Marvel imo, set photos show a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 newspaper in hawkeye so to coincide with this it will prolly be released closer to the end of the year
Good morning my neighbors! :D
Hey fuck you man!
Yes!!! F**k you too! :D (holy moly wasn’t expecting someone to get the reference!) (Coming To America for those who don’t know).
I may not get to watch BW this week in my country due to the lockdown. This maybe the first MCU film I won't get a chance to see. If there's one thing I wish to be spoiled about is whether >!there are any X-Men easter eggs like SWORD or Madripoor!< in BW.
Good news is that the US have delivered the Pfizer vaccines to my country. I've already gotten the 1st dose of Astrazeneca and will be getting the 2nd by end of this month.
So, happy 4th July, and thanks! Do enjoy Black Widow.
So what do the Young Avengers do exactly? I just can’t imagine I can take a team of children seriously. Can someone hype me up?
It's not super-kids. It's more like YA Avengers. If you love the Hunger Games-Maze Runner-Divergent-Harry Potter-Ender's Game-Runaways genre, you'll get a mix of that+MCU's massive scale.
As of now, Wiccan, Speed (Wanda's kids) and Kid Loki are actual kids.
Other than them, Kate Bishop, Cassie Lang, Patriot, Ironheart, Ms. Marvel and America Chavez (possible contenders- not all of 'em may make it to the final team) all have talented teenage/adult actors portraying them.
they are closer to late teens and young adults than children. and if you value power level, it will be hard to not take them seriously, since Wanda's son, Wiccan have godlike powers. and you'll see America Chavez' powers in MoM. so it's not like they are the Hawkeye version of the Avengers. they are powerful enough to deal with villains like Kang the Conqueror.
So do we think, that Kang will be a Thanos style big conclusive villain for the second “Saga” in the MCU, or will he be more like Ultron who was just a small bump on the road to something bigger?
I’m hoping for the former with maybe a few other heavy hitters to accompany him. Would be cool to see the aforementioned Ultron make a triumphant return through some time shenanigans.
Maybe a part of the big Kang -film or duology of films could deal with Kang sending the New Avengers (/Young Avengers, Fantastic Four etc.) to an alternate timeline where Ultron has rolled over the earth, with the aim of finding their way back. That way Marvel Studios could show the real Age of Ultron without repeating themselves at all.
If Marvel Studios ever gets to that point though, in my opinion Doctor Doom would be the perfect villain for the final saga, and a Secret Wars trilogy would be a perfect way to end it.
Having Defoe as Goblin again in NWH, for me at least, is so much more exciting than having Molina's Doc Ock or Jamie Foxx's Electro. I feel like Ock in particular had a really solid character arc in Spider-Man 2, and aside from him being recognized as an awesome and well-played villain, they could have easily leave his character alone. Foxx on the other hand could benefit from another 'go', but at the same time, is he as exciting as the Goblin? Williem Defoe killed it as Norman Osborn, even playing the deceased ghost speaking to 'HARRY!'- having him, even as a menacing and horrific Osborn in NWH would just make the film so much more exciting for me- I loved that portrayal, and hopefully, if, you know, he is actually in the film, the MCU would be able to do crazy stuff with him.
I really wonder what the tone of the trailer will be. The standard of trailer I hold every marvel movie to is the Infinity War teaser, and I know a Spidey trailer won’t ever have that same oh shit the word is ending tone, but I hope there is some feeling of dread in there that makes the trailer more impactful
How would yall rate the D+ shows -/10 including Loki so far?
Wandavision - 7.5/10
Loki-7.5 or 8/10 (honestly the last two episodes could factor in a lot so I hope they are good)
So for all mcu disney+ shows have been good but not great but it seems loki could be really good from what it has done and it could also be the best mcu disney+ show for a long time if the last two episodes are really good until something like moon knight or secret invasion comes out.
FATWS 7/WV 7.5/Loki 8.5
(as a whole)
- Wandavision: 5/10 - Side characters were utterly useless and had incomplete arcs in the context of the show. Villains ranged from genuinely awful to the bare minimum. An unfulfilling final fight that left much to be desired.
- Falcon: 7/10 - Touches on some huge issues i never thought Disney would go near. John Walker is a great character, although had some rushed plot development near the end. The terrorist group and the girl from Brave were terrible.
- Loki: 9.5/10 - Absolutely exceptional television so far. Really no complaints outside of some small choreography nitpicks and maybe the HEAVY exposition at times.
Wandavision 7.5 / 10
Every time Spidey pops up on Twitter’s trending page my heart skips a beat lol.
I just want my Spider-Men
the fact that Bucky is not an official Avenger yet...
So what billing order are we expecting for No Way Home? With the three Spider-Men, I think it could be something like them at the top of the poster, and then below: Willem Dafoe, Zendaya, Alfred Molina with Marisa Tomei, with Jamie Foxx and Benedict Cumberbatch.
It's always weird. The Endgame credits should give you ahint on what to expect.
How did Chris Pratt attain such power
It's officially Black Widow week fellas
1. I do not think Kang will show up in Loki in a big way, if at all
2. I think Frigga plays a pretty majorish role in the emotional development of Lokis (not necessarily the show). She's the only Asgardian mentioned (apart from Sif) - no talk of Odin or Hela or Heimdall or the Warriors 4 or Thor. Frigga is mentioned in Ep 1 (when she's shown to have died due to the actions of Loki, post which Mobius says it needs to happen again and again) and Ep 3 (when Loki and Sylvie discuss Frigga).
3. I really want to see Chris Hemsworths Thor become Rune King Thor. I know the MCU struggles to show really OP heroes and villians on screen, but RKT is the natural end for MCU Thor - he has lost everything and is about to get his ass beat by a God Killer. If New Asgard is destroyed as well in an MCU Dark Reign, then that may push him even more over the edge.
4. I hope they undo the criminal nerfing of Hulk and make him the insane guy who thunderclapped a chopper fire into submission. It's atrocious. Hulk is one of the awesomest iconic Marvel characters (hulk out is literally a phrase). Come on Feige.
5. Tinfoil hat theory: I think Feige is coming up with a multiversal timeline thing so that he gets the added benefit of being able to prevent contract disputes from occurring. "Ok actor x, you want way more money? We're going to write you out and proceed in another direction/replace you with your alt-universe equivalent". As nice as the MCU is, it's unlikely they'll get lucky again with cooperative actors and agents like they did in Phases I to III. Everyone knows RDJ made a killing. The MCU is a cash cow. Feige won't let himself be held hostage to contract disputes.
I also think that the multiverse stuff is for marvel be able to do movies outside of the mcu like joker and the batman, and for reboot some of the characters
Somebody on r/marvelstudios made a theory that a Loki variant is the main villain and it’s my favorite theory right now.
Something I've been wondering about, and I don't think it's been answered yet: Why are all the TVA agents human? They say they've taken in alien variants (Kree, Titans) but all the minute-men etc seem to be human. It seems that whoever created the TVA and brainwashed all the variants working there now has some kind of connection to earth.
Man i am so excited for Wakanda forever. Its legit going to be so great! The atlanteans clashing with the Wakandans. Irrespective of gets the mantle. Its going to be fantastic!
So a lot of you will probably not care, but my local cinema here in Germany will not show Black Widow at all. And it seems that a lot of other german cinemas won't either.
My local cinema gives the following reason as to why they won't show it:
"Unfortunately, like many other cinemas across Germany, we cannot include the Disney film BLACK WIDOW in our program.
The Walt Disney Company is presenting us cinema operators with new contractual conditions that we cannot accept as they are. They still charge the same high film rent, even though the film starts on the in-house streaming service at the same time. These conditions are not the result of negotiations, but are dictated by Disney. It is said that these conditions are non-negotiable and that they can be accepted as they are or not."
I seriously hope that this doesn't become a bigger issue for other upcoming Disney movies...
Have any leaks mentioned spdier-man getting a new suit and using magic? that seems like a pretty big detail to just ignore
I'm thinking a lot about that delta variant, I'm scared and also wishing that no movie get delayed
Happy Fourth, for those to whom it still applies (or applies at all). I'm watching fireworks from my window and keeping a lookout for posts of palm trees on fire. (An LA tradition.)
