I always love when somebody says that specificly about this song, which was written during the Nazi reign (or according to the composer shortly before, but that is not exactly substanciated), by a party member as a marching song for the Wehrmacht. I know those people will argue that the Wehrmacht was not all Nazis (which is a whole 'nother topic I will not step into, but needless to say that the whole clean Wehrmacht thing does not hold up). But that doesn't change that the song is as much a nazi song as you can get without outright picking the Horst-Wessel-Lied. That being said, it's still catchy. But I'm not a good judge. I have a soft spot for a ton of military music coming from all sorts of terrible regimes.

People who defend that and other obviously not cool things are delusional. They will actively reject the whole world around them with confidence, because in their minds if they keep thinking something, it'll become true. "Believe your bullshit" and all that. They will fight the definition war until they are blue in the face. You can call that song, rightfully, a Nazi song that was used during Nazi times, for Nazi things, and the definitions fit. They will retaliate with a differing definition of what Nazis are, and attempt to discredit critique that way. It's all a round about to "I'm stupid and I'll do whatever I want with disregard to social tactfulness, or history itself"

Someone should start a movement to take the song back. I wanna be able to listen to it without feeling guilty.
